Logan lounged on his bed listening to his iPod, trying not to think about yesterday's events.

After arriving back at school and settling in, Veronica headed down to the second floor to visit Logan.

She knocked on his door, still unsure how much she was going to share with him about her experiences in California.

Logan went to the door, punched the code in to unlock it, accepted the M&M-like candies that it spat out and opened the door. "Hey," he said when he saw Veronica. "M & M?" he offered.

"Uh, sure," Veronica said, taking a few of the candies he offered. She looked at his lock. "Guess I won't be breaking in anymore, huh?"

Logan grinned. "I could leave it unlocked for special occasions," he said. "Come on in. How was your trip?" He stood aside to let her in and stuffed one hand in his pocket awkwardly.

"It was... interesting," Veronica replied, stepping inside the door and looking up at him. "No welcome back hug and kiss?"

Logan smiled and held out his arms to her.

Veronica wrapped her arms around Logan's waist. "I missed you," she said.

Logan hugged her tightly. "I missed you, too," he said.

She stretched up for a quick kiss. "How was your weekend?"

"I've had better," he said. "Run into anyone I know this weekend?"

"Yeah," she said, going over to sit on his bed and not making eye contact. "I ran into Madison. She told me that Meg had a baby."

Logan blinked. "Meg? The Meg that was dating Duncan?"

Veronica nodded.

"Wow," Logan said. "She's like, the last chick I'd expect to get pregnant in high school. Duncan's?"

Veronica nodded again before looking up. "He said he didn't know until after she had the baby."

"So did she, like, run off somewhere? Cause I'd think Duncan would notice something like that."

"Madison said something about her living with her aunt," Veronica explained.

Logan nodded. "So, did you see Duncan?"

"Yeah."

Logan sat down on the bed next to Veronica. "How's he doing?"

She shrugged. "We didn't really talk. So what did you do this weekend?" she asked to change the subject.

"Had detention yesterday," Logan admitted. "And I went to a brunch downstairs this morning. To save the teal deer."

"You had detention? For what?" Veronica asked, giving him a concerned look. "And what the hell is a teal deer and why are you saving it?"

"I may have gotten into a slight altercation with Angel," Logan said sheepishly. "I'm not entirely sure what a teal deer is, but Angela was organizing a brunch for it, but it was a good brunch."

"Logan," Veronica said with a sigh. "What did you two fight about? And why did he call me from your phone yesterday?"
