Dorms, 2nd Floor and out, Friday Afternoon

Logan was packed. Big stuff was shipped back to Neptune for storage. Alcohol (except for his traveling stash) was boxed up and labeled for Parker. Small stuff was packed in his suitcase and laptop bag. Including his gun. Just in case.

Time to go.

Logan shut the door to his room. Then he punched in his security code a few times. Might as well have some M&M-like candies for the road.

Alanna who was totally not crying after saying good-bye to Angel had completely forgotten which floor she lived on. "You're leaving too?"

Veronica had finally finished moving and taken a shower and was heading up the second floor to say goodbye to Angel when she spotted Logan.

"I guess I shouldn't be surprised," she said. "Where are you off to?"

Rory stopped short on the way back to her room after saying goodbye to Angel. "You better just be going on a trip," she said, her voice preemptively tight.

Cordelia, like so many others, was on her way back to her room after going to Angel's. Her eyes were red and she was sniffling a little. She almost plowed right into Logan before she looked up at the last minute and avoided the collision.

"Not you too," she moaned, noticing the suitcase.

"Mainland, to start. Get my XTerra out of storage. After that -" he shrugged. "Have car, will travel."

"I'm guessing Neptune's not on your itinerary," Veronica said.

Logan shook his head. "Not any time soon, no. How about you? What are your plans?"

Logan nodded. "I'm a senior. You could say it's my destiny."

"Staying here for the summer. Still waiting for college acceptance letters," she shrugged. "Probably a couple visits home to visit my dad, but..."

"Rory," Logan said. "Will it help if I promise to keep in touch?"

"Me too," Logan said. "You all right?"

Cordelia wiped at her eyes with a hand and cleared her throat.

"I'm okay," she said, nodding. "Just trying to prepare for an Angel-free life. He's kind of been a permanent fixture for the past four years."

"No, but it'll do," Rory sighed, studying him. "You could stay and teach How to Be a Smartass 101 or something."

"Oh, him you'll miss?" Logan teased.

Logan laughed. "True smartassery is born, not taught." He held out his arms for a hug.

"Well, I do know him a bit better," Cordy said with a playful shrug. "Uh. Unless you mean like...knowing. In the, er, carnal sort of way," she added, going red.

Rory sighed and moved forward to hug him.

After a second, she murmured, "Thank you."

"Wow, your mind goes right to the dirty place," Logan grinned.

"For what?" Logan asked in surprise.

Logan nodded. He stuck his hands in his pockets awkwardly. "Well, have a good time," he said.

Veronica nodded. "Keep in touch?" she asked. "After all, someone has to keep an eye on you and I can do it just as well from hundreds of miles away."

"Being a good boyfriend while that lasted - though I really don't think we were ever really the stuff of, you know, epic romances or anything," Rory said with a small smile. "And for what you did...um, in November. And for being a friend. And...everything."

Rory nodded, a little teary-eyed. "Where are you going, anyway? Neptune?" She bit her lip to keep from pressing too much on why he'd be going there at the moment.
