After the phone call with Parker, Logan gave Angel a warning look. "Don't even think about it," he said.

Angel looked bewildered. "What?"

"Brooding," Logan said. "She's a nutcase. It's not your fault."

Angel rubbed the back of his neck, avoiding eye contact. He mumbled, "Wasn't gonna..."

"You already were," Logan said.

"Only a little."

"A little is too much," Logan said.

"It's my fault," Angel said.

"How, exactly, is it your fault?" Logan asked.

"I made it worse!" Angel said.

"No, I made it worse. Not that she had far to go. All you ever did was care about her," Logan said.

"But - " Angel started to say, and then stopped, shifting in his chair.

Logan folded his arms across his chest and raised his eyebrows. "But what?"

"I could've fixed her somehow," Angel said.

Logan let his hands drop to his sides. "You can't fix people," he said heavily. "It's not like cars where you can replace a few parts and get 'er running again."

"That and fixing cars I can do."

Logan sighed. "Cars don't have to want to be fixed."

"Can't always wait for that to happen," Angel said.

He then did Angel method of dealing with uncomfortable conversations #2 and got up from his chair to go into the lobby.

"Not allowed to brood in there, either!" Logan called out. He followed Angel into the lobby. "In fact, I declare the entire hotel a non-brooding zone." He considered the logistics of this and added, "For the next 48 hours, at least."

Angel slumped down onto the ottoman in the middle of the lobby. "There's rooms you don't know about," he muttered.

Logan sat down next to Angel. "Bet I could find them," he said.

A smile threatened to touch Angel's lips at that, but he stayed mostly stoic. "Could've done it."

Logan slipped his hand into Angel's, linking their fingers together. "Nope," he said. "I'd be able to hear the brooding."

Lip twitch.

"Could not."

"Uh-huh," Logan said. "I have an ear for brooding."

Another twitch, then Angel looked extremely put-upon.
