After they were both on the roof and the door was firmly shut behind them, Logan turned to Angel. "So. You've 'staked your claim' on me, have you?"

"Would you stop someone from killing me?" Angel asked.

"Yeah," Logan said. "But not --" He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "Is it true?" he said in a lower tone. "If Angelus came back - would he think he had a claim on me?"

"He'd be pissed if somebody killed you before he did," Angel said. He didn't look proud of this, or even thrilled to have to say it out loud.

Logan let his arms drop to his sides. "Well, I feel special," he said, after a moment.

"He's psychotic," Angel said. "Unnatural obsessions are part of the gig."

Logan shuddered slightly. "He doesn't own me," he said, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "And neither do you, got it?"

Angel held up his empty hands. "I don't think that I do. All I wanted was to get Bel off your back. That's it."

Logan nodded. "He and Phoebe are back together, apparently. Which puts him a lot closer to Veronica than I'd like."

Angel grimaced. "Same here. Man. I wish I had some way to get through to him. Something besides having to invoke my evil self."

"A bullet through the head might do the trick," Logan said grimly.

"So would a stake through my heart."

"Yeah, and if you were still all homicidal, don't think that wouldn't be on my list," Logan said.

"I'd better be," Angel said. "Still. Bel has a soul. He's got a chance to figure out how to be good. Maybe all he needs is encouragement."

"Plenty of killers have souls," Logan reminded Angel.

"Think I don't know that?" Angel replied. He put his hands back into his pockets. "We'll figure something out. We got vamps, we got snow monsters. We can get Bel."

Logan nodded. "We will," he agreed. "Let's get back inside. It's freezing out here."

"You got it," Angel said. He lead the way back in. "Oh, hey, Saturday good for you and Veronica and the double date?"
