When Logan stops back at the house after classes, he finds flowers waiting. Curious, he reads the note, then steps back warily.

"Radek?" he hollers. "Are you around?" He nudges the flowers carefully with his toes. They do not explode.

Jake wanders by and stops, arching an eyebrow at Logan. "Haven't seen him. What'cha doing?"

"Do you have any experience in detecting bombs, bugs, or poisons?" Logan asks, not taking his eyes off the flowers.

"A-yup," Jake nods. He eyes the flowers as well. "Why? Do you need some detecting done? Suspicious flowers? Did one of the professors send them?"

"Parker sent them," he says, as if it explains everything.

Barbossa comes down the stairs and sees the flowers.

"Those be pretty," he says. "Be they about t'explode, like Jake's box, too, then?"

"Maybe," says Logan.

"Wait, Jake had a box that exploded? In here?"

"It didn't actually explode. I thought it would, but it didn't," Jake commented, crouching down to poke the flowers.

"Ah." Logan watches Jake, and takes a few steps back.

"It didn't explode," Barbossa says, "but it be comin' from Professor Jerusalem and so Jake be not exactly sure what it be capable of. Jake be givin' it to Radek."

Barbossa looks thoughtful. "Mayhap the box ate him? I haven't been seein' him around much since then."

Jake twists his head to look equally thoughtful up at Barbossa. "...Don't think so. Could happen I suppose."

Logan grimaces. "Man, keeping roommates around here is a bitch."

"'Round here all manner of things be possible."

"Yeah, speaking of," Jake leaned back, ignoring the hitherto harmless flowers. They weren't sent by the professor, so Jake felt it was unlikely he'd get hurt even if they did go off with a bang. "Isn't there supposed to be two more people around here? I swear I saw them when I moved in."

"Yeah... I don't know what happened to them. I've put out an ad for more roommates," Logan says. "So, you think they're safe?" he asks, pointing to the flowers.

"Can't see any bugs, and doubt it's gonna go boom," Jake confirmed. "Don't know about poisoned, though. Barbossa, you know anything about flowers? Or poisons?" Who knew? The pirate might. He had a dress, after all. Who knew what else he might have?

"I'm not at all knowin' about flowers, I'm afraid," Barbossa said. "But I be thinkin' as long as you're not tryin' t'eat the thing, ye'll be all right."

"Huh," says Logan, slowly walking around the flowers. "So - they might just be flowers? That's unexpected."

Logan takes the note off the flowers and sets them on the dining room table.

The flowers persist in looking yellow and beautiful, with no hint of malice. Reluctantly, Logan picks up the phone and makes a call.
