A small coffee shop in Los Angeles, Friday Evening

After they ordered their coffee, Logan and Veronica found a booth near the window. "So," Logan began. "How's Cam treating you?"

"Really well," Veronica replied, sipping her chai. "What's going on?"

Logan shrugged and stirred his coffee not drinking it. "We haven't talked for a while. Though it would be good to get together while you're here."

Veronica was pretty sure there was more to it than that. "Things are going well for you out here then?" she asked. "I noticed that there were no Aaron Echolls films listed in the TV Guide."

"Yeah, he doesn't exist here," Logan said with a smile. "Or else he never became an actor. Either way, he's not around."

"That must make life easier for you," Veronica smiled back. "Makes me feel better if there's a me in this dimension."

She shook her head. "That stuff still confuses me."

"It's weird," Logan admitted. "Most of the time this is just like the L.A. I used to know, but every now and then I come across something that isn't right."

"We went out to lunch with Marty and Angela the other day," Veronica said. "It reminded me a lot of our L.A. I guess the differences aren't always glaringly obvious."

"Not until you go to the demon bars," Logan agreed.

Veronica raised an eyebrow. "Do you spend a lot of time in demon bars?"

Logan shrugged. "Only for work," he said, with a smile.

"So what are you doing for fun?" Veronica asked. "Because I've known you long enough to know that you aren't all work."

"Surfing, hanging out, the usual," Logan said.

"The usual?" Veronica repeated with a smirk. "So how many girls are you juggling?"

Logan opened his mouth, then shut it. He looked down at his coffee and poked it with the stir stick. "None," he said finally.

"Oh, please, Logan," Veronica said, rolling her eyes. "I know you better than that. You never spend much time single."

"I'm not single, exactly," Logan admitted.

Veronica raised an eyebrow. "You settled down with one girl?"

"No," Logan said, and took a long sip of coffee.

For some reason the idea that Logan was with someone not female didn't cross Veronica's mind. "Then how are you not exactly single?"

Logan set his coffee down, took a deep breath and let it out. "I'm not dating a girl."

Veronica opened her mouth to reply, but no words came out for a moment.

"Oh," she finally said. "Well... that's... unexpected. But good for you. As long as he makes you happy, I won't have to kill him."

"He does," Logan said, with a cautious smile.

"Good," Veronica said, trying to smile back. "Where did you meet him?"

There were a thousand other questions running through her mind - like 'how did you figure out you were into guys?' and 'were you into them when we were together?' but she was trying to hold those back.

Logan coughed and mumbled something that sounded like "random bye."

Veronica blinked. Logan couldn't have just said what she thought he said. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch that."

"Fandom High."

It didn't take a private eye to put two and two together.

Veronica's jaw dropped. "You and Angel are together?"

"Could you maybe not share that with anyone?" Logan asked.

"But... how? why? I mean... since when?"

Complete sentences? What were they again?

"This summer, when we went to Vegas - I don't know. It just sort of happened." He shrugged.

Veronica nodded, still pretty shell-shocked that her ex boyfriend had hooked up with her former crush.

"Did you... I mean... I never would have guessed you were into guys," she managed. "I knew he had a thing for you, but I never expected you to return it." Oops.

"It was a surprise to me, too," Logan said. "Wait, you knew? Since when?"

"Um... before we all graduated," Veronica admitted with a shrug. "I found out by accident. I thought he had a crush on Bel."

Logan made a disgusted face. "Ugh, why?"

Veronica mentally facepalmed. She certainly wasn't about to blow Bel's secret tonight. "I don't know," she said. "That was a long time ago. But when I confronted him about it, he slipped and told me he had a thing for you. I promised him I wouldn't say anything."

"Veronica Mars always knows everyone's secrets," Logan sighed.
