Angel Investigations, Los Angeles, Saturday Evening

The office had reached the point where something had to be done and so Logan was working, doing filing, even, on a freaking Saturday. They needed more staff, but hiring was a pain in the ass. Logan wished they could just find someone right for the job. A person (or people) who could handle weirdness and office crap without running away screaming.

Be careful what you wish for, Logan.

Luckily (or unluckily, depending on your point of view), that was when Bel and Veronica shimmered in.

Bel shimmered out again immediately (it was obvious he was Not Happy) and Veronica set down her suitcases.

"Hey," she said.

"Hi," Logan said. He looked at her suitcases. "Please tell me those are full of French maid and naughty nurse outfits."

"There might be one or two for undercover work," Veronica said.

Cole shimmered back in, looking more unhappy, with Phoebe and suitcases. He made sure she was steady on her feet before shimmering out again.

"Hi, Logan."

"I do some of my best work under covers," Logan grinned.

"... Phoebe," he said, giving her a welcoming nod. He was starting to think something was up.

Veronica rolled her eyes.

"So, which room should I take these to?"

She smiled cheerfully. "How are things?"

"How long are you staying?" Logan asked.

Oh crap.

"Um... didn't Angel tell you?"

"... about the hot threesome he planned?" Logan asked hopefully.

Veronica rubbed her forehead.

"No. Unless he forgot to tell me about that one too."

Which, well, knowing Angel, was entirely possible.

"Then what?" Logan asked.

"He told me that we could move in," Veronica said.

"Here?" Wait. "We?"

"A little surprising, actually," Logan said.

"Yes, here. He said there was plenty of space and you guys could use the help."

She bit her lip. "And, yeah. Me and Piper..." she trailed off. She was going to have Words with Angel.

Her smile faltered. "Let me guess... you had no idea..." She let out a breath.

"Filing? And cooking?" Logan asked hopefully.

Veronica laughed. "Yeah, I think we can handle that."

Pause.

"Plus some extra muscle."

That part was mumbled.

He didn't quite catch the words, but he noticed the mumbling. He sighed. "Okay, Mars, spit it out. What's the deal?"

"Got it in one," Logan said.

"Phoebe and Anders and Cole are moving in too," Veronica said. "I talked to Angel about all of this. He was supposed to tell you."

Okay, she hadn't explicitly told Angel to tell Logan, but she figured it was implied.

"Oh boy," she said. "Uhmm... we were invited to move in and help out?"

"He must've forgotten," Logan said dryly.
