Saturday, November 18 - Evening

Logan had on his best suit and tie and was waiting in the lobby of the Hyperion for Angel to come down.

Angel? Also suited as he came downstairs to join Logan. "This okay?"

"Looks good," Logan smiled. He stood up and gestured toward the door. "My car awaits."

"You know you are really taking your life in your hands here," Angel said as he headed in that direction.

"Asking you to wear a tie?" Logan asked innocently.

"Asking me to do a thing," Angel said, gesturing to indicate the whole of Logan's rather vague invitation. "I feel like we're going to get attacked by demons at any second. That or, you know, Cal."

Logan looked warily over his shoulder and moved a little faster towards the car. "That's why I figured it'd be better to do a thing elsewhere," he said. "Demons we can handle."

"No kidding," Angel said. "So where we going?"

"To the car," Logan said.

Angel gave him an eyeroll. "Hardy ha."

After negotiating through the traffic from downtown to Hollywood, Logan pulled the car into the valet parking of an old Victorian mansion in the hills.

Angel looked at it. He decided to give a guess as to what it was.

"You took me to a brothel?"

"No," Logan said firmly, then after a moment added, "Is that something you want to do?"

"Do I look like the kind of guy who'd want to do that?" Angel replied.

After a pause he added, "Well, not anymore anyway."

Logan shrugged. "I have no idea what goes on in that ancient brain of yours." He got out of the car and handed his keys to the valet.

"I'm a - " whatever Angel started to say, he changed for whatever reason. "I'm just glad you admit I do have one."

"Never said you didn't," Logan grinned. "C'mon."

Angel put his hands in his pockets and followed along behind him. "So what is this place?"

After they'd eaten dinner (or at least, Logan had) and seen the main show, they wandered downstairs. A young magician performed card tricks at a tiny table. As they stood in the dark, watching the tricks, Logan reached out and slipped his hand into Angel's.

Angel looked briefly surprised, then gave Logan's hand a squeeze. "This is nice."

"Happy Soul Day," Logan smiled.

"Just don't ask me to blow out any candles," Angel said.

"No candles. I wouldn't risk setting the hotel on fire," Logan responded.

The magician finished up the last trick with a flourish, and the tiny audience applauded.

"You've got a cake for me back at the Hyperion?" Angel asked.

"Nope," Logan said. "Didn't see the point, since we won't be going back there tonight."

"Where we going?" Angel asked.
